In response to: Is Chapel Street Refurbishment Really Necessary? Ask Aldermen and Residents
I took a slow walk along Chapel Street yesterday after reading the article. It certainly does not need a full refurbishment, just a tidy up and the “temporary” tarmac repairs to the road and pavements made good with slabs or setts.
The various retailers and business premises along the way could also help to lift the place by maintaining the outsides of their premises. Broken and leaking gutters and drainpipes, weeds growing out of drains and walls, flaking paint and general grime, certainly don’t help the look of the place.
It’s still a nice little town centre lane, but it needs a bit of help to freshen it up, from both the council and individual property owners on the street.
