An road accident on the A3 in Guildford caused major traffic delays yesterday (22 Aug) evening in the middle of the rush hour.
Surrey police reported that at around 5.45pm a collision involving a single vehicle occurred on the northbound carriageway of the A3 by Onslow Village.
It appears that a green Peugeot 206 hit the the central reservation blocking the inside lane. The female driver was shocked but suffered no injuries. There was no one else in the vehicle with her.
A build up of traffic due to the collision quickly occurred and continued and while recovery of the vehicle took place. The lane was cleared by around 7.25pm.

This is almost a common occurence on this stretch of the A3 which is badly congested from about 15.30 hours each day.
It seems to have become more so since the Hindhead Tunnel was completed,
It is this area which will feed the proposed park and ride site.
