Members of Guildford Choral Society are cock-a-hoop over the appointment of Jonathan Willcocks as their new Musical Director.
We enjoyed two rehearsals with him before his appointment and are currently enjoying rehearsals of “Elijah” for performance at G Live on Saturday, 16th June. It’s going to be a scorcher! Jonathan works us hard but he is a master-musician and has that special ability, possessed by all inspired teachers, to make seemingly hard things easy.
When I read in the article above that Jonathan “would love to find opportunities to involve local schools and choirs with Guildford Choral,” I found it hard not to stand up and cheer! Yes, yes, and yes again – that is passionately my position, too, (as an ex-teacher with a special interest in getting children singing) and I look forward with enthusiasm to any initiatives that Jonathan and Guildford Choral Society take in that direction .
The future is rosy for Guildford Choral Society!
