Shoppers of all ages passing through were able to join in with the event, which gave them the opportunity to see an observation bee hive situated in the apiary on the roof of the shopping centre, providing information on the very important honey bee. Seeds and White Lion Walk Honey were also being handed out as tasters, and the event hosted an Arty Party workshop for children.

Steve Cotney, the Centre Manager of White Lion Walk said: “It was fantastic to see so many shoppers, young and old, getting involved in the various activities at the centre and keen to learn about the life of bees and the production of our honey.”

He continued: “We are very proud to be an environmentally friendly shopping centre and we work hard to help nature. From the launch of our roof based bee apiary last year, our mission for 2012 is to help our shoppers understand the beauty of nature and how they can help wildlife in their own home.”
