Street Cleaning in Guildford High Street

Guildford Borough Council want you to talk rubbish. To be more specific they want to know what you think about their street cleansing services.

A council spokesperson said: “Street cleansing affects all of us, whether it’s graffiti, chewing gum or litter. Clean streets have a direct impact on the quality of our everyday lives.”

“Come along and tell us your views at one of our community meetings. How can we improve? Are there areas of the borough that need more attention?”

Cllr Nick Sutcliffe, Lead Councillor for Environmental Services says: “We operate the street cleansing service in the borough and are reviewing the service to ensure it meets current and future needs. We are asking you for your views about the service.”

The meetings take place on the following dates:

Tuesday 2 October    10am – 12 noon East Horsley Village Hall, Kingston Ave
Thursday 4 October   2pm – 4pm Worplesdon Village Hall, Perry Hill
Tuesday 9 October    10am – 12 noon Green Ark, Lido Rd, Guildford.

As well as an opportunity to meet staff the meetings will:

  • explain the background to the service
  • tell you how it’s performing
  • explain why the review is happening
  • seek your views on the current and future service
  • tell you what happens next.

The spokesperson added: “You are welcome to just come along but it would be helpful to have an idea of the number of attendees. To register your interest please email steve.curzon-hope@guildford.gov.uk
