Take unwanted clothing and other items for refugees camped in France to a collection this Saturday, January 23.
The venue is once again the council’s Woking Road depot, and the time is from 11am to 3pm.
It is being orgainised by Guildford: People to People for CalAid. This time they are appealing for specific items that their volunteers will be bagging up and taking to France the next day for immediate distribution.
They particularly ask for:
Men’s trousers sizes 28-32 (jeans, tracksuits, waterproofs etc – no suits please!).
Men’s waterproof walking shoes sizes 38-45.
Men’s warm, waterproof coats.
New men’s socks.
Warm blankets.
Sleeping bags, preferably in cases.
Also welcome will be long life/dried food, baby food fruit pouches, ready mixed formula cartons, nappies and wipes.
If you do not have clothes to donate, cash donations will be very welcome and can be made via http://guildfordpeople.org/
Suitable donations collected on Saturday will be taken to France the following day for immediate distribution.
