Guildford’s MP Anne Milton who was re-elected on May 7th with an increased majority says she is honoured and privileged with the result and her subsequent promotion to Deputy Chief Whip and is happy to punch through any glass ceiling.
Anne said: “It’s an honour and privilege to be re-elected to be Guildford’s Member of Parliament and I was overwhelmed by the size of the majority. I am extremely grateful to those that took the time to vote for me and would also like to thank everyone for their generous support.
“I am delighted that I have the opportunity to continue working hard for those living and working in Guildford, Cranleigh and our surrounding villages. For all those living in the constituency, I am here to help in any way I can, so please do get in touch.
“Lastly but by no means least I would like to thank all the staff that have worked in my office over the years and have helped me to make sure all my constituents get the help they need.
“I was also thrilled to be appointed by the Prime Minister to be the first woman to ever hold the office of Treasurer of Her Majesty’s Household and Deputy Chief Whip. It is great to have the chance to punch a few holes in glass ceilings and I look forward to continuing the work I have done in the whips’ office over the past few years.”
