Police officers are seeking witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed by a couple in Guildford.

The victim was punched and kicked by a man and a woman in Foxenden Road, off York Road, early on December 9 and gave them money before he fell unconscious.

He was helped back to his house by an unknown man, described as being in his early 20s, curly hair and wearing a cream jumper. He told the victim’s housemate he lives close by.

PC Chelsea Draisey said: “While we are grateful to a generous member of the public for helping the victim home safely, he may be able to provide further information. If you’ve heard a friend referring to this incident early on Sunday morning, please encourage them to come forward to help us.”

The male assault suspect is described as tall and wearing a black coat, the female as being approximately 5ft 6ins.

If you have any information that can help police, call 101 quoting reference number PR/45180131221.
