In the 2013 New Year’s Honours, the Queen has bestowed awards to the following people from the Guildford area.
OBE: Peter Hutley MBE, for charitable services and services to Christian understanding.
MBE: Phelim Brady, deputy principal Farnbrough College of Technology, for services to further education.
MBE: Margaret Hunter, for services to AGE Concern Surrey and to charity.
BEM: Howard Potter, for services to the community in Shere.
BEM: Shirley West, volunteer British Heart Foundation, and for services to charity.

Great to see some well deserved recognition in the honours. Shirley West never ever stops doing things for others, perhaps she should have got a higher award.
