Everyone is welcome to the popular Carols on the Green event taking place in Paynter’s Park (at the junctions of Stoughton, Manor and Grange Roads) on Friday, December 13, starting at 7pm.
More than 200 people attended last year’s event that created a warm community spirit on a chilly night.
Once again there will be traditional carols as well as popular Christmas songs to be sung. Providing the live music will be musicians from Emmanuel Church.
Song sheets will be handed out, but please remember to take a torch.
Afterwards there will be free refreshments inside Stoughton Methodist Church Hall, that’s opposite the green.
Organiser Jan Cook said: “This year we have a new marquee for the musicins to play in. We will be selling raffle tickets and all money raised will go to the RNLI.
“We have some great prizes, including tea for two at Guildford’s Radisson Blu hotel, Sainsbury’s vouchers, a car valet worth £50, and lots more.”
The evening will also feature a dance display by local children and a lantern procession.
More details from Jan Cook on 01483 823709. Helpers will be welcome for a hour or so during the afternoon from 2pm to help set up.
