The Castle Green Bowling Club celebrates its 90th anniversary this year and has room for some new members.
Club member Shirley West BEM said: “This year we are having two recruitment sessions. We are only able to take a limited number of bowlers, but this year those who might wish to join are in luck as there is room to take on some new members.
“As you can see from the picture, we bowl in the beautiful surroundings of the Castle Grounds. This is a small but extremely friendly club and we would welcome any new members.
“Anyone joining this year will only have to pay half the membership fee (the full fee at the moment is £60).”
The club will be celebrating its anniversary with some special events during the season.
Shirley added: “If you would like to have a chat before you come up why not ring our secretary, Colin on 01483 575948, or our captain, Diana on the same number.
“Why not come along and have a go?”
The open days will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 10am to noon and on Wednesday, May 8, from noon to 2pm.
The club can provide bowls, but those wishing to have a bowl will need is to wear a pair of flat shoes.
