The Refutea coffee morning at St Clare’s Church in Park Barn on Saturday, December 5, raised nearly £400.

Team vicar, the Revd Steve Pownall, said: “Cheques are being sent to the two organisations we were raising funds for – Guildford People to People and The Refugee Council.

“A big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event and also those who helped to organise it.”

The morning, that featured coffee, cakes and bacon butties was also aimed at raising awareness of the plight of refugees and the work of Guildford People to People and The Refugee Council.
