Police accident signThe family of James Attwood, who was the victim of a fatal collision on the A31 Hog’s Back last week, has issued a tribute in memory of him.

In a joint statement the family said: “We are absolutely distraught after the loss of our beautiful son, James. We cannot believe that such a tragic accident has robbed us of the chance to spend a lifetime with a loving son and brother who was loved by all who knew him. We are in complete shock and desperately struggling to come to terms with our loss.

“James was happier than ever and had his whole life ahead of him. He had just been promoted at work, had fallen in love with a beautiful girl and was in the process of securing a flat. We just can’t understand how this could have
happened.

“James was always positive in his outlook, was so happy and loved his family and friends deeply and this will be our lasting memory of him”.

Mr Attwood of Havant, Hampshire died after being struck by a lorry on the carriageway near Puttenham on Thursday morning (September 11) just after 10am.

An inquest into Mr Attwood’s death has been opened and adjourned.
