Police in a dinghy continue theri search.

An inflatable dinghy is used to continue the search.

The sad search for missing kayaker Grant Broster continued today (March 31) but without success.

The area of the search has had to be extended because the condition of the river on Easter Monday, fast flowing after Storm Katie, means that anyone washed away could have been carried some distance downstream.

Surrey police issued no statement today. An update from Natasha Faulding, speaking on behalf Specialist Group International, that is providing the divers conducting the underwater search said: “There are no updates regarding the search as of yet, however the search will continuing tomorrow.”

The public is being urged not to go into the water if they do see the kayaker in the water, but to call 999 straightaway.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference P16069050.
