Guildford Borough Council is inviting local schools and parish councils to join their Crowdfund Guildford movement.
Now schools can get money to make their ideas happen, we could help them fund activities after school or create new learning spaces. For parish councils, it’s an opportunity to help improve community spaces, organise local events, or fix things that matter.
A council spokesperson said: “Opening up applications to these integral community hubs empowers even more community ideas to come to life. We can support these ideas with up to £5,000 funding and it’s not too late to create a project with our autumn round. The current round will close January 31 2024. Our funding is supported by the UK Share Prosperity Fund.
If you can dream it, you can create a project with Crowdfund Guildford. We’re looking to support projects that:
Council leader and Crowdfund Guildford Ambassador, Julia McShane, said: “We want everyone to be able to contribute to a thriving and inclusive Guildford. That’s why we’ve extended our support to schools and parish councils through crowdfunding. This will give even more local people the backing they need to make their community ideas come to life.
“Our autumn round is still open for ideas big or small that’ll make a real difference. Your ideas can become reality and with Crowdfund Guildford we can make it happen together. We’ve already got projects crowdfunding that need your support! Join us in backing these local ideas on our projects page. Every pledge counts!
“Crowdfund Guildford is our way of showing we care. We’re behind each and every one of your ideas to better the lives of people living here. We know that the added contributions from schools and parish councils, no matter the size, will be significant steps towards helping that happen.”
