Once again the award-winning Shahin Tandoori Restaurant on Woodbridge Hill, Guildford has helped raise money for the Mayor of Guildford’s Charities’ fund.

The owner of the Shahin Tandoori Restaurant, Yameem Deedar, presents the Mayor Guildford, Richard Billington, with a cheque for £1.100.

At this year’s annual fundraising dinner at the Shahin, £1,100 was raised.

The current mayor, Cllr Richard Billington, is supporting the Royal Surrey County Hospital and The Prostate Project.

The owner of the Shahin, Yameem Deedar, presented the mayor with the cheque.

Mr Deedar said: “It is a moral duty to support local charities. I have been trading since 1991 and I feel it’s my duty to help look after the local community and support every good cause.

“I am extremely grateful local people has supported me for a very long time. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

“I would also like to stress that, in this difficult time for everyone in Coronavirus, we pray for each other and offer any kind of help. May God keep us in safe and in good health.”
