Dragon Interview: Ciaran Doran – Chair, Guildford Lib Dems

Ciaran Doran

Interview conducted by Martin Giles and filmed by Chris Jewers

Ciaran Doran is the chair of the Guildford branch of the Liberal Democrats. Unsurprisingly, the limelight normally shines on the elected representatives but those in the background can have significant influence too, in the way the party meetings are organised, candidates selected and funds raised.

As someone who works in media, Ciaran knows a thing or two about effective communications but it was not quite enough for him to persuade sufficient voters in Holy Trinity to elect him on May 2. Even some of his political rivals have said that was a great shame. See what you think…

This is the third in a series of interviews with those who operate behind the scenes in our local political parties. In July we hope to continue the series with interviews of those in background appointments in the Guildford Greenbelt Group, The Labour Party and the Green Party.
