96.4 Eagle Radio is organising a second forum on Guildford. This time the theme is to be: ‘How do we speed up development of Guildford?’ And it means not just planning but public relations and improving the quality of Guildford “ambassadors”.
Included too will be questions around the citizens’ role in the process and the need for compromise – the realisation that not everyone can get exactly what they want.
The forum will be held in late April or early May at a Guildford venue still to be announced.
Peter Gordon, programme director and Breakfast show presenter at Eagle Radio is keen to attract those that have not so far been included in the debate on Guildford’s future: He said: “The fresher the faces the fresher the debate. We need to engage more and different people in the discussion, especially welcome would be some younger input from Guildford.
“As has often been said, it is a town for their future we are building. It seems that any new initiatives always have the same people behind them – sometimes simply moving from one previous idea, campaign or business group to another.”
For this event, it is understood that the radio station is considering more of a “Question Time” format with Peter Gordon as chairman and a panel answering questions put to them by the audience.
The previous Guildford forum event organised by Eagle Radio took place at G Live in November. Click here for the report.
