Eagle Radio’s Love Tour is back again this summer! And you can catch it it two Guildford locations.
As the radio station that loves Surrey and Hampshire, presenters will be visiting and broadcasting shows from several towns in its coverage area, including Guildford, and Godalming.
The annual event, which lasts for two weeks (149 hours of outside broadcast!) is an exciting opportunity for the listeners to meet the radio station team and see real local radio in action!
Many local schools will be visiting the daily programmes as part of Eagle’s ever growing education proposition, there’ll be charity presentations to local charities via the Eagle Radio Trust and there’ll even be some proper DJ club workshops on site too!
The official overall sponsor of the Love Tour this year is the University of Surrey, which has recently reached 8th in the Guardian University Guide 2014. The University will also be its first port of call on Monday (Jun 24). G Live will also host the radio station on Friday July 5th.
Mike Hounsell, Director of Marketing & Communications for the University of Surrey said: “We are really looking forward to working with Eagle and sharing with local people the myriad of wonderful things that happen at the University of Surrey.
“During the course of the Love Tour, we hope to surprise people and provoke their curiosity, to help them understand what we do and highlight why we are now a Top Ten university.
“We are very proud to be located in Surrey and are keen to show both the societal and economic impact that our work is having at a local, national and global level.”
Peter Gordon, Programme Director and Breakfast Show Host, said: “More and more listeners and businesses in Surrey and Hampshire are realising that Eagle Radio simply reaches the parts, locally, other radio stations and media can’t: that’s what our Love Tour is all about!
“We are also delighted that the University of Surrey is using the local power of the tour to reinforce its commitment to the local community and spread the message of educational opportunity that it has for all.
“It’s a great way of celebrating its Top Ten university status too!”
