Elderly Man Dies After Road Crash At Compton

A man in his 80s died after being involved in a road accident in Compton on Friday morning, December 21.

Police officers were called to The Street, Compton at around 10.10am following a collision between a red Lexus and an Isuzu recovery vehicle.

The driver and passenger of the Lexus were trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed by the fire service.

The driver, a man in his 80s, was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital where he later died. His male passenger was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting where his condition is described as serious but stable.

The driver of the Isuzu suffered minor injuries in the collision. The road was closed for a number of hours while an investigation was carried out.
Surrey Police is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles prior to it to come forward.
