A female motorcyclist was killed this evening (14 Aug) in a collision in Burdenshott Road, Worplesdon.
The incident happened shortly before 5.30pm. Emergency services were called to the scene where it was reported that a motorcycle had collided with a tree.
Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and Surrey Air Ambulance all attended. The motorcyclist, a woman believed to be aged in her 30s, was treated by paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for around three hours while emergency services dealt with the incident but is now reopen.
The victim is the second female motorcyclist to have been killed in the area in just over a month. On July 11 Guildford resident Joanna McDonald died following a collision on the A323 near Fairlands.
Police have spoken to a number of witnesses but would urge anyone else who witnessed the collision to call the Collision Investigation Unit on 01483 639922, quoting reference P12236780.
