Stagecoach bus depot staff in Guildford raised £970 in donations for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices with their Santa bus.
The bus operator says the festive single decker bus received a Christmas makeover and was driven by Santa Claus and the Elf in the lead up to Christmas, serving destinations across the Guildford, Woking and Haslemere areas.
Operations manager Graham Harmer for Stagecoach in Guildford said: “Our Santa bus has become a great tradition each Christmas. We are delighted the bus brought so much festive joy to the communities we serve.
“We are extremely grateful for the support and generosity we have had from customers helping us raise £970.”
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices supports children and young people, with life-limiting conditions, and their families across Surrey, south-west London and north-west London. The charity operates from two sites, Christopher’s in Guildford and Shooting Star House in Hampton.
Ellie Constable, corporate relationship manager at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, added: “The money will help us continue to make every moment count for the families we support. A huge thank you to all involved and to everyone who donated.”
