The Fair Before Christmas, taking place at the Park Barn Social Centre on Saturday, December 9, is a free to enter family event organised by the Guildford Borough Council-run centre and its community wardens team under its Project Aspire scheme.

The fair will be open between 1pm and 5pm and will feature musical entertainment and family-friendly attractions including an ice rink, pony rides, an animal farm, face-painting, Santa’s grotto and appearances during the afternoon from The Snowman, the character from the ever-popular children’s book of the same name.

As well as an exciting festive line up of activities to entertain you, your family and friends the fair will host array of stalls selling handmade and local Christmas gifts.

Delicious food including mince pies and mulled wine will be on offer, or why not relax with a toasted marshmallow hot chocolate whilst the children have lots of fun making decorations for our twinkling Christmas tree.

There will be live music inside and out from local singer-songwriter Hannah Dorman, rock band Squeezebox and the Park-Barn based Rhythm of Life Community Choir.

The council says that the fair is an opportunity for all of the communities in Guildford to celebrate Christmas and share the importance of community spirit – “so please come and join us.”

Entry to the fair is free and there is a small charge for most of the activities.

The Park Barn Social Centre, is located in Park Barn Drive, Guildford GU2 8EN.
