January 8 The flood alert warning for Guildford has been removed although sleet is forecast later today.

Four flood alerts do remain in place (see list left).

January 7 A flood alert – “flooding is possible, be prepared” – remains in place for the River Wey in Guildford but despite more rain or sleet forecast tomorrow (Wednesday) the official flood forecast for the next five days is “very low”.

Nonetheless, there is some localised flooding in the town. Stretches of the River Wey towpath have flooded and Millmead car park has had to close.

Some areas near the River Blackwater in Ash have also had a flood alert issued (see map below).

Further upstream, The Mill at Elstead was closed with bus diversions in place, according to Stagecoach.

Flood warnings were also in place for Eashing.
