A bicycle can be a better form of transport when there is lots of water about. So it proved this morning as we rode a circuit of Shalford to see how routes had been affected there.

At the time there was still some standing water on Broadford Road and the A281 was still officially closed.

But there were walkers out, offering a cheerful Merry Christmas with the same spirit we see when there is significant snowfall. And it was great to meet some of our Dragon readers from Shalford…

We have more photos to publish that readers have kindly sent in from other parts and from the town centre too. We hope to add them later today or tomorrow.
