[thethe-image-slider name=”Autumn colours 2012″] Some welcome sunshine on Saturday (October 27), after several cloudy days, offered the chance to see this year’s autumn leaves in all their glory.

Monday too saw some bright spells in the morning, and this, the first day of the half-term holidays, there were plenty of people out and about enjoying the countryside. The pictures seen here and in the gallery above feature Guildford’s Chantry Wood and its surroundings, and around Shalford Park – all taken on Saturday morning. The rest are images taken at the National Trust’s Winkworth Arboretum near Godalming on Monday, October 29.

Here are some delightful photos taken by John Schluter, also at Winkworth Arboretum, but earlier this month.
