Guildford businesses are gearing up for the second annual Surrey Vegan Fair which is to be held on Saturday May 13.
The Zebra Kitchen, a Guildford based bakery, will be on hand offering a range of vegan/free-from goods including rainbow cupcakes and desserts.
Some Dragon staff’s favourite, Surrey Hills Coffee, will also be in attendance serving their own blend of coffee that they produce in their own roastery in Leith Hill. Local activist group Guildford Animal Save will be promoting animal rights campaigns taking place in Guildford and surrounding areas.
Originally held at the The Guildford Institute, Louise Simpson, who organises the event with her business partner Steve Swindon, tells The Dragon that it was so successful they had to seek an alternative venue with more space. This year it has moved to the HG Wells Centre in Woking.
Louise says: “Following the success of our first event held last November at The Guildford Institute in Surrey, we listened to feedback and knew we had to find a bigger venue, so we have!
“We had almost 900 people through the doors of the first Surrey Vegan Fair and the 23 stallholders had a very successful day with some of them completely selling out. The venue for this event is more than twice the size of the previous venue with more parking and easy access from the station.”
Louise also adds that there are plans to bring the fair back to our town.
“We definitely hope to bring back Surrey Vegan Fair to Guildford in the future. In fact, Surrey Vegan are teaming up with their friends at the Boileroom for Always The Sun festival in Stoke Park, so we will be back soon.”
The event will also include talks from actor Peter Egan and many food, make-up, pet accessories and clothing stalls.
Tickets are still available at ww.surreyvegan.co.uk.
