English Garden Joinery Stand - Chelsea Flower Show 2012

Exhibiting at the Chelsea Flower Show is a challenging business. Guildford-based English Garden Joinery is taking up that challenge for the first time this year.

Working with local garden designer Lisa Cox, the company, which specialises in custom-made timber products for the garden, has created a stand that not only showcases its products but fits in with the contemporary styles of many of the Chelsea show gardens.

English Garden Joinery has supplied bespoke joinery to three Gold Medal-winning gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Palace Flower Show over the past three years.  The company’s decision to exhibit at this year’s show follows the launch of a new corner bench and rocking sun lounger.

Rob Horton, Director of English Garden Joinery, said “although we’ve enjoyed being involved with the show gardens at Chelsea over the past couple of years, we now feel it’s time to showcase what we do in a more visible way.”

Exhibiting at Chelsea is different to other shows because the visitors expect the show stands to be as beautiful as the gardens. “We work with Lisa Cox regularly,” said Rob, “so we knew that she was the best person to help us to develop a show stand that not only enhances our work, but also has the look and feel of a Chelsea show garden.”

Lisa Cox, owner of Lisa Cox Garden Designs, said “I jumped at the chance to design the show stand for English Garden Joinery. I love working with them to develop any timber elements within my designs. They’re creative, personable and knowledgeable and the workmanship is second to none.”

English Garden Joinery design and develop garden products including furniture, garden rooms, planters, trellis and storage.  Everything the company makes is hand-crafted in its workshop near Guildford by professional joiners and carpenters. The RHS Chelsea Flower Show runs from 22nd-26th May in the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, London, and is the most prestigious horticultural event of the year.
