For over 40 years Guildford Lions have held a family fun event at Shalford Park on Easter Monday in aid of local charities.
However, with Easter falling this year at the end of March this year the club has taken a very brave decision to defer the event until Bank Holiday Monday May 2.
Mike Girling from the Lions said: “As is the case with all outdoor events the weather can often make or break the success and enjoyment of the day. Our decision to change this year is solely based on the expectation of warmer dryer weather in May. Only time will tell!
“The May fair will still have all the usual favourites including a car boot sale, food and craft market, fun dog show, classic cars, tug of war and children’s fun fair and the addition of sheep dog displays.
“We look forward to welcoming over 3,000 people to enjoy the day and once again raise several thousand pounds for local good causes.”
