Guildford Parkrun, Saturday, February 15

The run in Stoke Park used the ‘extreme weather route again’, and this week regular runners were joined by plenty from Frimley Lodge Parkrun, as its event had been cancelled.

There were 130 runners, of whom 26 were first timers and nine recorded new personal bests. Representatives of 24 different athletics clubs took part.

Men’s placings:
Mark SYMES (VM45-49) of Camberley & District AC, was first over the line in 18:54 – first appearance.
Richard LOVEJOY (SM25-29) of Farnham Runners, was second over the line in 19:08.
James ADAMS (SM30-34) of Guildford & Godalming AC, was third over the line in 19:21 – has been first to finish on three previous occasions.

Current standing in the men’s annual points competition:
Daniel Peter HEFFERNAN (unattached) 3,958 pts.
David WOODCOCK (unattached) 3,126 pts.
Andrew FLANAGAN (unattached) 2,945 pts.

Women’s placings:
Claudia LANCE JONES (JW14) of Guildford & Godalming AC, was first (seventh overall) over the line in 20:24 – fourth time in five appearances.
Jody THOMPSON (SW30-34) (unattached) was second (39th overall) over the line in 24:55 – was first to finish once before.
Debbie AITKEN (VW35-39) of Purple Patch Runners, was third (43rd overall) over the line in 25:06.

Current standing in the women’s annual points competition:
Susanne BARNES (Woking AC) 4,081 pts.
Julia BONILLA (unattached) 3,672 pts.
Susanna HARRISON (Guildford & Godalming AC) 3,214 pts.

The following runners recorded the best age grade scores:
Claudia LANCE JONES (JW14) was graded 78.27% for the time 20:24 (seventh overall).
Mark SYMES (VM45-49) was graded 75.04% for the time 18:54 (first overall).
Colin ADDISON (VM50-54) was graded 71.36% for the time 20:50 (11th overall).

Guildford Parkrun started on March 10, 2012, and since then 2,778 different runners, including participants from 191 athletics clubs, have completed 12,563 runs covering a total distance of 62,815 km, and there have been 2,557 new personal bests.

The women’s record is held by Katherine PHILP who ran in a time of 00:18:46 on May 18, 2013, (event number 60).
The men’s record is held by Tom ALDRED who ran in a time of 00:15:30 on April 7, 2012, (event number 5).
The age grade course record is held by Jane DAVIES who recorded a 90.41% run (22:25) on April 27, 2013 (event number 57).
