Guildford’s MP Anne Milton has added her thanks for Armed Forces Day, held last Saturday (Jun 27).

She attended the national event alongside thousands of others joining the Prime Minister, the Secretary of State for Defence, the Duke of York, the Mayor of Guildford and other dignitaries in thanking our Armed Forces and showing appreciation for the work that they do for our country.

Ms Milton said: “What a wonderful day for Guildford and it was fantastic to see so many people coming together and celebrating the work that our Armed Forces do.

“Guildford offered the perfect stage to mark this event and it was so exciting to see the town full of activity from the Cathedral to the High Street and across Stoke Park. It was an honour to welcome representatives from the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force onto our streets and have the opportunity to offer our heartfelt thanks for their hard work and dedication to our country.

“The atmosphere was wonderful as the crowds celebrated throughout the day and I am sure it will be a memorable and proud occasion for all in the constituency who contributed to this spectacular event.”

I agree with Anne, a memorable day from start to finish and who will ever forget that magic of the military bands marching up the High Street. Do hope a video is bought out of the day’s highlights.
