The official opening of Merrow Post Office was recently marked by Guildford’s MP, Zöe Franklin.
The branch reopened as a family-owned business at the same site on Epsom Road, having been closed since January 2023.
The location, home to a convenience store, has provided drop and collect post office services since November 2023, and additional services have now been restored under new Postmaster Kiranjeet Singh.
Zöe Franklin said: “My constituents are very happy that Merrow has a post office again.
“I want to sincerely thank Kiranjeet Singh for the investment that he and his family have made into this modern convenience store and Post Office.
“It really is at the heart of this community and Kiranjeet is clearly community-minded and is quickly building up rapport with customers.
“There’s a really good atmosphere and it has created job opportunities for local people too.”
Mr Singh said: “My customers are very happy. We have lots of elderly people in the area who like that they can walk here.”
The post office’s opening hours are Monday to Friday 7am-6pm and Saturday 7am-2pm.
