Hamptons International followed the TV bake-off craze to launch their fundraising partnership with Cancer Research UK.

The partnership is hoping to raise £100,000 for the charity by the end of 2013.

Last week on March 12th staff at Hamptons International, in Chertsey Street, opened their doors to local businesses, schools and the general public asking them to buy cakes made by the staff in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

All sixteen members of the team baked a variety of creations.  These were tasted and marked by a panel of judges consisting of; Julian la Poer Beresford, Regional Director at Hamptons International, Suky Pether, Director of Marketing and Peter Gordon from Guildford’s 96.4 Eagle Radio’s Breakfast Show.

The resident judges rated the cakes on presentation and taste and crowned Sophie Rosser, Lettings Property Manager ‘Bake-Off’ Champion  of the Guildford branch for her cupcakes. In total so far £253.00 was raised on the day which will be going towards the £100,000 fundraising target for 2013.

James Webster, Senior Negotiator at the Guildford branch Hamptons International, said: “The Bake-Off is the first of many fundraising initiatives we will be spearheading in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

A fantastic effort was made by the whole team and we were delighted to see the attendance of local businesses. Congratulations to Sophie Rosser who walks away as our ‘Bake-Off’ champion and a big thank you to everyone that attended and donated money for  a very worthy cause!”
