Headway Surrey is looking for enthusiastic people with an interest in the welfare of those with acquired brain injury (ABI) to take on the important role of trustee.
Headway Surrey provides cognitive rehabilitation, support and services for those affected by brain injury in Surrey.
Set up in 1985 and formally established in 1994, Headway Surrey reports it is at an exciting moment in its history, with a new chairman starting in October, celebrating 10 years in its HQ and resource centre in Stoughton, Guildford.
The charity is looking to recruit up to three new trustees, “who can help us shape this evolving plan for the future to ensure that people living with acquired brain injury in Surrey have access to our expertise and services”.
The trustee role is a voluntary position and the charity particularly interested in hearing from individuals who can help it ensure that its board is as diverse as the local communities and clients it serves.
A full trustee role description is available.
Trustees are required to attend nine short early evening meetings per year at Headway House in Stoughton. There are also opportunities to visit events for clients or participate in fundraising events.
Trustees are appointed for a five-year term of office and provided with a comprehensive induction and support programme.
To apply: send a CV and covering letter indicating why you are interested in this opportunity, and what you would bring to the role to CEO Sonja Freebody at sonja@headwaysurrey.org
Application deadline is September 17, with interviews on October 4.
