Highways Repair Bulletin March 13

Published on: 13 Mar, 2023
Updated on: 13 Mar, 2023

Over the last week, the council’s fleet of gritters were out regularly spreading salt on the county’s roads to safeguard the movement of all highway users.

Surrey County Council says it has continued to “…develop new ways of working and provide appropriate levels of resource to deal with the exceptional, severe weather events that are happening more frequently with our changing climate.

“Winter Service involves treating the highway in order to:

• Prevent ice from forming (known as “precautionary salting”)
• Melt ice and snow already formed (known as “post salting”)
• Remove snow”

This week there will be road or lane closures in: Ash, Chilworth, East Horsley, Effingham, Guildford (Aldershot Road, Cherry Tree Avenue, Elmside, Epsom Road and Rydes Hill Road), Peaslake, Pirbright, and Tongham.

Traffic light signals or stop/go signs will be operating in: Albury, Ash, Chilworth, East Horsley, Gomshall, Guildford (Aldershot Road, The Chase, Chertsey Street, Clay Lane, Epsom Road, Guildford Park Road, Stoke Road, York Road), Peasmarsh, Send, and West Horsley.

See list below for further details. It is published by Surrey County Council  and is also available on the SCC website. It shows the current works planned or underway in the borough.
