Young shoppers went hopping mad on Saturday, April 1 as they were treated to a visit from popular fictional bunny, Peter Rabbit.
In celebration of International Children’s Book Day, children at the White Lion Walk Shopping Centre in Guildford attended a very special reading.
Shoppers and their families were given the opportunity to meet the Beatrix Potter’s character and listen to tales of his adventures during free story time sessions, led by a narrator. The children also had the chance to have their picture taken with the mischievous bunny as a reminder of the special day.
Eleanor Berry, who attended the story telling event at White Lion Walk commented: “It was lovely to see the children all gathered together and watch them so engaged with the story of Pater Rabbit. It’s a real pleasure to see International Children’s Book Day celebrated in this way.”
Steve Cotney, Centre Manager of White Lion Walk, added: “We were delighted to welcome Peter Rabbit to White Lion Walk and introduce him to all our lovely young shoppers.
“Storytelling is an important tool for capturing the children’s imaginations and we’re pleased to provide a local celebration of the book day in Guildford.”
