Jaramillo Restrepo’s victim was just 10-years-old at the time of the offences which took place in York Road, Guildford between July 2007 and July 2009.
DI Stewart Leahy said: “This outcome has been made possible thanks to the bravery of the victim who had the courage to come forward and report this man’s appalling behaviour. I would also like to acknowledge the relentless work of a number of dedicated officers who tracked down the offender and brought him before the courts.
“The tenacity of the investigating officers demonstrates that Surrey Police will use all available methods and resources to relentlessly pursue those who commit serious offences of this nature and bring them to justice.
“Surrey Police has a dedicated team that specialises in investigating serious sexual offences and reports will be thoroughly investigated. Victims can be assured that their welfare will be our priority.
