Officers from Surrey Police have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with a burglary and subsequent credit card fraud.
The incident happened at the Talbot Inn on the High Street, Ripley on Sunday, October 27. It appears that two men managed to distract a member of staff and then removed some paper work from the reception desk containing personal details of hotel guests.
Surrey Police has now received calls from a number of people reporting their credit cards have been used fraudulently.
PC Catherine Lawrence said: “This incident has caused a lot of distress and inconvenience to those affected and we are really keen to identify these two men so we can progress the investigation. The hotel has endeavoured to inform all the relevant parties and we are grateful to those people who have assisted our inquiry by reporting the fraudulent uses to us. We would urge anyone else who thinks they might be affected to contact us as soon as possible.”
