There was an easy win for the Surrey Stars ladies against the Lancashire Thunder on Wednesday (August 9) at Woodbridge Road.

The victory margin was seven wickets with over four overs remaining, probably earning a bonus point for the triumphant home side.

Leading from the outset, following the visitors’ rather inadequate 102 for nine, was England opener Tammy Beaumont who top-scored in the match with an unbeaten 45.

A good size crowd was in attendance, many families taking advantage of the opportunity to witness the rising standard of ladies cricket.

Following the match all of the players mingled with the crowd, signed autographs and happily posed for photographs.
