On Wednesday September 2, Jim Horwood beat Paul Plummer in a very tight exciting game that went to 20:20, to win the Castle Green Men’s Championship.

The same day, David Taylor beat Rob Helliwell to win the West Trophy. And on Thursday September 3, Brian West beat Jim Horwood to win the Handicap Trophy.

On Sunday, September 6, we had another good win, this time against East Horsley, at home, by 36-22. Individual team results:
S West (skip), B West, D Taylor: 20-6.
J Bird (skip), V Smith, T Smith: 16-16.

On Saturday September 5, we played a friendly match against Holloway Hill, away, and won by by 67-60. Individual team results:
C Summerhayes (skip), P Plummer, D Longman: 16-14.
J Bird (skip), H Vogel, D Taylor: 16-20.
R Williams (skip), D Summerhayes, M Plummer: 20-10.
We were also allocated a team from Holloway Hill to ensure we could play four triples. That side was led (for us) by an ex-Castle Green player, Loris Magnini, and it lost by just 15-16.

On Tuesday, September 1, the senior men’s team lost to Woodbridge Hill, away, by 18-50 (-32). This was a bigger defeat (by 9 points) than the one we had playing them at home earlier in the season. That suggests the advantage of playing on a home green. Individual results were:
R Williams (skip), P Plummer,  D Taylor:  10-18.
C Summerhayes (skip), B West, N Hinde: 8-32.

On Saturday, August 29,  we played a friendly match against Milford, away, and lost by 40-70 (-30). Earlier in the season we had beaten Milford, at home, by 40 shotes, so we are up overall by 10 points. Individual results were:
C Summerhayes (skip), L Smith, J Phillips: 12-13.
J Bird (skip), P Smith, N Hinde: 8-19.
P Plummer (skip), D Summerhayes, H Vogel: 7-17.
M Redgwell (skip), J Hinde, M PLlummer: 13-21.

On Tuesday, August 25, the senior men’s team lost their match against Astolat, away, by 28-39 (-11), which left us in 10th position in the Guildford-Woking League. This result was about the same as when we played them earlier in the year. Individual results were:
B West (skip), P Plummer, David Taylor: 22-15.
C Summerhayes (skip), P Smith, R Helliwell: 6-22.
