chairman of the Guildford Veterans’ Hub
The Veterans’ Hubs initiative is a great opportunity for veterans to meet in a relaxed environment and share a cup of tea and the company of others who have served. They also offer a chance to obtain advice, support and services under one roof in a friendly setting.
They are a warm and welcoming place where any member of the Armed Forces community (serving and ex-service) and their families, including widows, may go for help, advice and comradeship.
What is a veteran? Quite simply it is anyone who has served a minimum of one day in the Armed Services or “blue light” services. There is no age qualification, young or old all are welcome.
The project is to set up and help strengthen and extend the provision of these invaluable centres, (the hubs) thereby increasing the local support available for veterans across the South East. No membership fees or a need to sign up; just come along and reignite old
friendships or make new ones.
Guildford and Woking Hubs meet as follows:
Guildford – Guildford Fire Station, Ladymead, Guildford, GU1 1DL Last Thursday of the month 10:30-12:30
Woking – Woking Fire Station, 40 Goldsworth Road, Woking, GU21 6LE Third Wednesday of the month 10:30-12:00
