In response to: Bringing History Alive Attracts The Crowds To Heritage Open Days Weekend
Senior Wych Productions became involved in this event in a very roundabout way – a message from Margaret to someone else was passed by that someone to me to see if I could help and I got in touch with Margaret.
Margaret and I have been involved in the “Inspired by Alice” days organised by Guildford Borough Council’s Heritages Department since they began in 2015.
Senior Wych Productions is basically just me – I get an idea, adapt a story and then press gang friends into taking part! Amazingly, I still have friends!
The Cheshire Cat costume designed and made especially for my castle grounds’ production of “Alice in Looking-glass Land” was so good that I decided it had to be used again and again. (Thank you to Chris Raggett for the costume and the idea and to Neal Stewart for the mask and the grin!)
Senior Wych Productions allows me to raise funds for Cats Protection and, I believe, to enhance the cultural life of Guildford. As a born and bred (vintage) Guildfordian, I am passionate about promoting our town (not a city) and all that is best in it.
Thanks to Gavin, this Heritage Open Day was one of the best yet!
