In response to: Open Up Our Great Guildhall to the People, Says Former Mayor

I agree with everything Gordon Bridger has written about our Guildhall. It should be open for local events and charities like my own, the British Heart Foundation. We absolutely loved holding special fundraising events there but sadly when the hiring charges went up we just couldn’t afford it any more.

I am sure there are many ways the Guildhall could pay for itself and I know lots of charities that would love to hold an event in there, it is such a very special venue.

Whenever I held my evening events there they were always a sellout.
