In response to: Letter: KPMG Should Interview All Relevant Councillors on Burchatts Barn, Including Me
Geoff Davis says in his letter: “… it was confirmed Cllr Maddy Redpath did not request the KPMG report, but the officers”.
In fact, I asked James Whiteman [GBC managing director] for the review via email on January 6. We then had a meeting, including Cllr Bigmore [ council leader], to discuss the remit. James then asked KPMG to proceed with the review.
Once the Terms of Reference were set in March, I have been in regular contact with KPMG and the relevant officers to ensure this report is completed and published. Unfortunately, I’ve only achieved the latter so far.
So yes, I did request the report but I was not the “Executive Sponsor”, if that is what Geoff Davis means.

Well Cllr Maddy Redpath, I know who I believe.
She did a great job for shining light on this dismal affair, but it begs the question: what is the point of the Corporate Governance and Standards and the Overview and Scrutiny committees? They appear to have done nothing about the shortcomings.
