In response to: the three-part Insights open letter to Pedro Wrobel
The three parts to Bernard Quoroll’s critique of Guildford Borough Council offer a sad insight into its workings over many past years.
In many cases, these are reflections of the situation outlined in the many excellent articles and letters published in The Guildford Dragon NEWS.
Whilst it may be inappropriate and even impossible to “draw a line” under them, as someone who has lived or been a visitor to relatives in Guildford for 71 years, I hope that Mr Pedro Wrobel, the newly appointed joint CEO, will reflect on the constructive advice offered by a politically neutral individual, who, it seems, like so many Guildfordians, wants the town to once again flourish.
Editor’s comment: We hope to publish more “Insights” articles by Bernard Quoroll periodically.

I applaud an independent Bernard Quoroll for bringing to our attention the “modus operandi” of how Guildford Borough Council seems to conduct its affairs. Mr Quoroll is someone who has spent best part of five years monitoring and observing the workings of this local government district and it’s fair to say that there is further room for improvement across the many different departments within GBC.
I do wish that Pedro Wrobel together the joint CEO of Guildfprd and Waverley councils can begin “brainstorming” immediately in order to find ways for the council to be more approachable, empathetic, less stuffy, less snotty, honest and transparent and in their conduct.
It would be most desirable to read further “insights” through The Guildford Dragon NEWS when they are made available.

The Council could make a start by re-appointing Mr Quoroll as its ‘Independent Person’. He is clearly qualified for the job.
