A Gazan woman using crutches

From Keith Childs

See: Appeal for Used Walking Aids for Gazan Casualties

I wish to thank all Dragon readers who responded to the appeal for unwanted walking aids to be donated for sending on for Gaza.

We actually collected 198 walking sticks, 148 crutches, 3 walkers, 3 orthopaedic boots and one leg brace.  These will soon be on their way to Jordan and then to Gaza.

The idea for this collection came from the late Barbara Dewick.

Thank you on updating The Guildford Dragon NEWS readers.

I am sure that Barbara Dewit would have been delighted by the response and generosity shown by the Dragon readers in this worthy cause.

If I may, can I thank the helpful staff at Cranleigh waste site in Elmbridge Road for allowing me to pick up several unwanted pairs of crutches, and friends and family.
