In response to: An Update of the Local Plan Requires Vision, Leadership and a New Spatial Strategy

Julia Osborn’s article goes to the heart of the matter.

I was a borough councillor when the Local Plan was being passed, and those of us who challenged the feasibility of the project were constantly assured that the infrastructure was integral to the plan.

It is hard to understand how this plan can be legally valid when it flies in the face of what councillors voted for.

It is hardly surprising that there is widespread cynicism about our “democracy”. Even at this late stage, the current council should challenge what is happening.
