Letter: We Will Work With Anyone Interested in Air Quality

Published on: 15 May, 2020

From Prashant Kumar

professor and chair in Air Quality and Health; and the Founding Director of the Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE) at the University of Surrey.

In response to: Healthy Lessons In Our Air Quality Learnt From Lockdown’s Reduced Traffic

A diverse range of local air pollution activities are being carried out locally (and internationally) by the Global Centre for Clean Air Research (www.surrey.ac.uk/gcare) in collaboration with parents, schools, councillors, council and many others, and can be seen here.

Our most recent work was around schools and can be accessed here for free.

In two weeks time, we are launching a new guidance document that sums up years of our research as well as draws important information and experience from other sources – it has been co-designed with our Guildford Living Lab collaborators (https://twitter.com/GuildfordLL) and is titled as:
Mitigating Exposure to Traffic Pollution in and around Schools – Guidance for Children, Schools and Local Communities

This is an active topic of our research and we are willing to collaborate and work with anyone who is genuinely interested.

Perhaps they should work with GBC to advise them of the disastrous impact their Local Plan will have on air quality?
