I understood that Guildford Borough Council (GBC) had deferred the local plan process and that they will carry out a further consultation exercise through the summer.
That would seem to be sensible as a lot of the information they had been working on must now be out of date.
Please could the GBC’s managing director set out what the next steps are for the local plan and the timescales for each of them, so that we know what to expect? In particular, could she please let us know what will be done to update the evidence of housing needs for the borough and when the next consultation is likely to commence?
It is important that the consultation avoids the time when many people will be on holiday and unable to take part.

Given recent events, it is vital that the next consultation does not rely on any of the ‘evidence base’ of the last daft local plan.
