Kelly-Marie Blundell – the new prospective Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Guildford

Kelly-Marie Blundell has been selected to fight the Guildford Constituency at the next general election at a party meeting held on Thursday, Jun 7.

Sue Doughty, the former MP for Guildford and Constituency Chair, said: “I am delighted that Kelly-Marie will be standing for the party here.  She has many talents and a huge amount of experience which mark her out as an excellent future Member of Parliament.  Since moving to Guildford she is already beginning to make a real difference.”

A party spokesperson said: “Kelly-Marie is one of our new generation of Lib Dems. A campaigner at heart, she is well known within the Liberal Democrats for speaking out against NHS reforms, and elected to represent members on the Federal Policy Committee.”

Having been short-listed for awards for her political blogging in 2011, Ms Blundell now writes for the Huffington Post.

She moved to Guildford in 2012 and was recently actively involved in the Surrey County Council Elections.

By day she is a fundraising manager for a national charity and a trustee of the Ghurkha Peace Foundation.

Kelly-Marie Blundell has agreed to be interviewed by The Guildford Dragon NEWS during the next week. Please check back.
